N.A.P.A. (it stands for FAMILY!)

We've been in the wine business a long time, so we enjoy reminiscing about some of our "family firsts", especially this one, our first Napa Valley release. The N.A.P.A. portion of the wine’s name represents the 5th generation of Scotto Vintners: my brothers and sisters Natalie, Anthony, Paul (me) and Anne. Michael’s Red is named for our youngest brother, and Bianca’s White is named for our youngest sister, who has recently joined us on our wine adventure.

NATALIE

"When you genuinely love and
care for the other person, you are able to put other differences aside."

Picture

ANTHONY

"Being involved in a family business can be very challenging, but without a doubt, it's the single most important reason behind our success."

Picture

PAUL

"My favorite part of every harvest is working with the growers and strategizing the best time to pick. Each harvest brings a new adventure, and even with Mother Nature being unpredictable..."

ANNE

Anne was an integral part of creating this brand, and today she's focused on her family - and enjoying an occasional glass of her favorite Scotto Family wine.

MICHAEL'S RED

BIANCA'S WHITE

Picture
is named for our youngest brother, who joined our family of vintners in 2012. The deep garnet color leads to ripe black cherry, raspberry and spice on the nose with vanilla oak in the background. Flavors including dried cranberries, candied cherries and caramel follow in this medium bodied blend, with soft tannins on the finish. Each varietal component was aged separately for 17 months in French oak, then blended in stainless steel and returned to barrel for another 6 months. A few minutes in the glass shows this release at its  nest, and patient wine lovers will appreciate the additional complexity that comes from another 12-36 months of bottle aging.

PINOT NOIR

Dominated elegant red fruits including raspberry and strawberry, crisp acidity and richness from Pinot Meunier and color, tannin and dark fruit flavors from a touch of Syrah. These Napa Valley varietals were fermented and aged separately in a combination of new French and 2nd vintage French and American oak barrels. The soft tannins and hint of sweet oak spice make this an unusually versatile red wine that will complement salmon, baked fowl, ham and roasted turkey.

87 Points, 2018 California State Fair Wine Competition
is an expressive blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon that shows exceptional depth, character and body. These varietals were hand harvested in Pope Valley in the Oak Knoll District, de-stemmed, gently pressed and cold settled. The Semillon and a portion of the Sauvignon Blanc was fermented in French oak barrels constructed specifically for white Bordeaux barrel fermentation, where they were stirred on the lees. This release is ready to enjoy today but has the potential to age ten years or more with enhanced richness and complexity because no malolactic or secondary fermentation was allowed. It also welcomes our sister, Bianca, into our 5th generation family of winemakers.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON

This classic Cabernet Sauvignon has well integrated flavors with a combination of ripe cherry, plums and hints of licorice. Hand harvested and aged for 24 months in new and second vintage French and American oak barrels, this lush varietal has smooth tannins and a full, lengthy finish. Bottle aging will add to the complexity.

CHARDONNAY

Hand harvested grapes from the Silverado Trail and Oak Knoll District. Partially fermented in stainless steel and aged for 10 months in 2 year French oak barrels. With complex notes of citrus, melons, pineapple and grapefruit, this beautifully balanced Chardonnay has character and elegance for a broad range of cuisine and will continue to develop for years to come.
